I finally got certified through my company a few weeks ago and it seems like everyday I'm learning a bunch more about pipe welding. I can't get enough. During the weekends I can't wait to go back to work. Here's a few pics of some welds I did this last week

That looks great! I wouldn't be bothered at all to put my stamp on welds that look like that.
One thing that comes to mind, is work on getting the toes where they look good without ringing them with a file. (Even if you do ring them after for the job you're on.) Some jobs do not allow filing the toes. This does not mean "dead-perfect lines"... It means some jobs allow "zero" undercut, and ringing with a file hides the toes so they can't check... You may already be fine there, but just be aware... Sometimes a file is a fail.
The markings in the 1st pic says "x-ray". I have no doubt that one's a pass.

Thanks a bunch Steve. One of the fitters I was working with told me that in refineries they won't let you use a file like that. I'll try to get them straighter. I've been grinding small lines in the sides of the bevel after I fill it flush to help me keep straighter in the smoke, but still need more practice. I think on some of my welds a one bead cover is probably a bit wide so I'm gonna try to start practicing stacking stringers for a cap. It seems like that's harder for me to make look nice than a one bead cap though. I'm loving pipe welding though, can't get enough of it
The welds look great. I hope to be a pipe welder one day and yours look just as good as many ive seen on jobs.
I agree with otto though. Filing is sometimes a big no no, and other times its acceptable. If my welds looked as good as yours id throw that file away when it comes to your cover pass. You're good enough where you dont need it.
