One is just a socket weld fitting. The other two are from the base of a pedestal I made.

It’s mostly just about the practice. If I haven’t run stick in a few months then I usually need to run a lb or 2 of rods to knock off the dust. After you run 50 to 100 lbs of rod you will feel much better about the looks.

Nice, that is looking pretty good. Try to overlay 50/50 into your last pass. You should see it digging/chewing into your previous bead. This will remove the valleys between beads if you are having that issue. Also don't be afraid to crank the amps way down or way up to experiment. That's the best teacher! Some machines (mine for example) can run a 7018 332 at like 100a like a dream even though thats way outside the "recommended" specs. Every machine is different, so keep cranking the knob until its going in nice, and you will know when you see it. Too hot and you'll get a lot of spatter, a red glowing rod and even some fire on the end of the rod.
