What info are you looking for? D15.1 is qualification document for people used in the rail industry. I view it as the companion to D1.1.
We use it at the loco builder I work for. General qualification pieces are done for sheet metal (usually 3/16") and then 3/4" plate. It's up to the builder to choose the weld processes. Our baselines are done with MIG (GMAW) with the sheet metal and flux core (FCAW) for the plate. Of the pieces I have done the one that takes the most time is the 2G weld w/ backing strip in a 12" long long 3/4" plate. Our guys have some choice in terms of groove angle though 30 degrees per side (60 included) is recommended. A start-stop is required in the root pass. Three 1/4" bend samples are cut across the groove. I think one of the remaining edges is sanded and etched. No grinding/dressing is permitted between passes.
Cheers, Alan
