Looking at a everlast plasma50
Has option of
s45 torch
or pt60 for 40.00 more

Anyone have any experience with the two ?
As some torches are better or worse with consumables.
I should check ebay to see what the price difference is on Consumables

Thanks
C

C,

Always go "more" when the budget allows.

It's an unwritten welder/fabricator rule.

When you go "less", you always wish you'd gone "more".

Thanks Steve
But some times the extra option isn't always worth it. Since I'm very unfamiliar with both torches I had to ask.

Why would you want a 45amp torch on a 50amp cutter?

I assume you are referring to the numbers in the torch codes?
And this is why I'm posting on this forum is for info Gamble and thank you

Says 40amps at 60% duty cycle
http://www.trafimetusa.com/Products/Pla ... 0_0702.pdf

This is the actual standard torch that comes with the everlast PP50 and you are the first to comment that its incorrect for the amperage of the unit. So its obvious they are hoping the buyer only uses it for very light duty use.

Right so 60% at 40amps, and what's it at 45amps? Say 25% just for the sake of argument and then add another 5 amps on top of that. So 50amps at what 10% or less?

Either way the S45 is a great torch but I personally wouldn't use it on a 50amp cutter, but then again who am I and what do I know, right?

this is exactly why I asked....
Looking up the torch its seems like they went with a cheaper unit to keep the cost down.

Thanks again for the heads up gamble
