The kind that is done by a competent operator.

Seriously, that question is way too vague to be answered honestly.
What are the conditions? What type of metal? What will the weld be subjected to afterwards? And so on... Too many variables.

If you have some specifics we can answer better.

Today it is MIG/Flux core at it was stick welding.
In some work when very thin metal TIG/torch is used. Also use for cast iron
