I just bought a plasma cutter, can I wear my auto darkening helmet or do I need something else?
Keep in mind I do wear eyeglasses......

Gday mate,do you have a Grinding setting on the helmet? If so use that, i find anything like a 7 or above to dark for me. I actually use a UV safe dark tinted pair of glasses. Have a play and see how you get on!!!!!

I use special uv and ir blocking glasses from a safety equipment supply place that are between a 3 and a 5.
I have more questions than answers

I to am new to plasma. My manual calls for shade 5 welding glasses. I'd use Auto dark on most sensitive setting if it's light enough to see. Otherwise, goggles are available for over the glasses.

I'm getting on, so I need magnifiers inside the helmet. Mine is Miller Elite, works good.

My helmet does not have grind mode. I just bought a face shield with #5 shade, should be good for grinding too.
