Retired from welding and still wanting to weld. Just bought a used Lincoln Invertec 275-S and set it up for tig scratch start. It doesn't weld with switch in TIG position but does in SMAW setting. Just wondering why? Also the HOT START doesn't work in the SMAW setting. Have not used this type of welder only the old type AC/DC Millers, Lincoln's, Holbart's, etc.

The last Invertec 275 machines I used were "lift-arc" in TIG mode. (They were fine machines, BTW.)
