Hi, my name is Tyler. I'm a part time night instructor at a technical college here in Memphis. I'm very excited to be a part of this forum and looking forward to all I can learn in the world of welding. During the day I work at a transmission shop where occasionally I get to fix cracks in cast metals, mostly aluminum.

Tyler,
Welcome to the forum.

We look forward to what you can contribute to the conversation as well as answering any questions you might have. We all learn from each other here, whether it be asking a question or researching an answer to other's questions. You can ask just about any question here and you'll get a well researched, polite, thought out answer without anybody trying to put you down for not knowing. That's the only way we'll allow it to happen here.

I encourage you to get your students involved here also. There are a lot of life lessons to be learned from people here with many years in their particular fields (not just welding).

Tyler,

Welcome! We appreciate every educator helping the next generation.

I second what Len said, about involving your students. Get them watching Jody's videos at www.weldingtipsandtricks.com, and get them involved here, where all the questions the videos may raise can be answered.

We're all about the next generation knowing what they're doing when they go do it.

Thanks fellas. I'm already in the process of including Jody's vids in class, and I'll be sure to tell em about the forum.
