Hello, my name is Bill, and I am a hobbyist welder. I own an Everlast 160sth, and so far have only done TIG welding. Currently building a 1/8th scale diesel locomotive, and I have a small lathe and milling machine, along with a 20 ton press, bandsaw, and other tools. I am pretty good with CAD programs too.
Right now tossing around the idea of fixing a CUT50 plasma cutter my friend sent to me to have, for free... Free is good, but I am not sure I want to to throw money at something that never worked well to begin with... It has a fried thermistor, a couple of resistors, and probably a few diodes on the power supply board. Talking to my friend, he told me the pilot arc never worked on it to begin with! He would touch off on the nozzle, which would always blow it out... Yeh.. Think I will save up for a better unit... But again, might be fun spending 10$ and replace the parts that are blown up to see if it smokes again!
