Hello! I am new to the site, looked into this from watching welding tips and tricks on youtube, Jody is a great asset to have with my inexperience. I am an electrician by trade, and a residential framer before that, so my welding experience is limited to this one project I started in July of this year. Probably a bit much to bite off for not ever welding or working with metal before, but you gotta start somewhere right? I have a lot of questions, but only one I need to finish this project. Please take a look at my project and let me know the good, the bad, and I guess the ugly too. I will submit a full photo thread from the ground up in the appropriate thread, but thaught this would be a good place to start. Glad to be here, looking forward to learning how to work with metal!attachment=3]1.jpg[/attachment]

Welcome, MMP,

Nothing wrong with taking a big bite, when it's your own project. What I see so far shows organization and planning, so it appears your main concern is producing quality welds.

Jody's videos are "the keys to the kingdom", as another member once said, and this forum is a great place for coaching as you progress.

MMP,
Welcome to the forum! No matter how long we have been doing this or how much knowledge we have, we all still have a lot of questions. I firmly believe this is what pushes us toward perfection. I say that was a great first project. I see attention to detail and a well thought out plan. I look forward to your complete build pictures!

All we need is sand blast and paint. Posted the progress in the projects thread. Thank you all for the kind words!
