Hi from Scotland

Hi all,

New welder here, amateur (in every way!) and mainly just interested in welding for small projects and repairs.

Current project is a wood burning stove made from an old gas cylinder....

I started out with a stick welder originally, and apart from helping me get the locking wheel nuts off my car when the key for them broke, I never really had much success with it - probably because it was burning too hot for the smaller stuff I was playing with - and because I never got enough practice to get any good!

I picked up a Cebora MIG welder and have had way more success with that

Love Jody's videos, and that's why I'm here 8-)

Welcome to the site BigYin. Be sure and check out the Video button at the top of any page. I'm sure you'll find information there that will help with your "stick" welding issues.

Hey,

Big yin, is that a common nickname, or a reference to Billy Connoly? A welder in times passed, himself. Sad news about him lately though.

Hi Guys,

My user name is one I've had for a while from other forums, but it's a combination of the fact I'm very tall (6'6") and a nod to the great Billy Connolly 8-)

Welcome.

On most forums I go by Steve Scott, and the "Scott" is due to the fact that my Mum's side is "Clan Keith"...
