Hi,
Totally new to this forum. Recently bought a HF tig welder. Have never used one before. I am a hobby machinist. I am also an FFL07/SOT with a small garage workshop. In my real life I am a middle school science teacher. Can't wait to learn from you all
Regards,
d65

Welcome on, d65!
This is a great place for students. They can quiz folk who have been at their particular trade (any thing from art, architectural iron, code vessels, marine, aerospace), and the sky's the limit.
If you find yourself comfortable here, we'd appreciate a "first name", even if it's an alias, so we have something to call you "other" than d65...

d65,
Welcome to our corner of the interweb. It should be noted that in a post on a welding forum that sometimes HF is referring to Harbor Freight and sometimes High Frequency. So if your new welder is the former then one thing that's not advertised is the fact that that machine is a liftarc machine which makes life a lot easier for newbe's.
There are plenty of videos on the main website to help you learn also. They range from very basic to teaching old dogs new tricks.
I personally hope you contribute here with your science knowledge because I for one never get enough of that. Just no pop quizzes please or I'll be back in detention all the time.

Oh god no. Not another STEVE on the forum. I think mothers need to get more creative otherwise we are gunna get mighty confused here. I've already got a few roos loose in the top paddock without all this extra confusion.
