Hi there from CT. I am a hobby welder by night and an accountant by day. When I was a kid my Dad had a set of torches and a Lincoln AC-225 that I used to mess around with, but never really mastered. In the last 5 years or so I really got back into welding, and have been teaching myself stick, MIG and TIG. Am still learning for sure.

Louie1961,
Welcome to the forum. I think we all are still trying to master welding. Hope we can help in any way we can.

Hey Louie, something sounds so familiar here... Welcome!!
As a kid, my cousins Grandad had the Oxy-Acetylene torches and sometime as a teen (early '60's) did my first welding... acquired gas equipment later and in '75 bought my TIG/Stick welder... When I finished school at USC, I went into public accounting and a CPA ... now retired, I got hooked on Jody's videos and found the need to spend $5K on new equipment to play with...
Did I need it? NO, but I sure wanted it
Now, if I could only make a weld like Jody!!! Welding is truly an art!

Hi Louie, An accountant huh? That explains why the scratch start! Admit it, you can afford a nice welder, and I know you want one!

@Glen, sounds familiar.
@Bill. I want one, but I have to get my old lady to stop spending all my cash on silly things like Catholic school tuition first. I have actually been toying with the idea of liquidating a couple of my other toys to fund a new welder.
