I was referred to the forum after watching some youtube vids on the 6G Tig welding test. I was recently hired as a pre-appprentice through the local Pipefitter's Union. I'm hoping to get a head start on my welding skills, so I'm signed up for a 5 month beginners Arc Welding class in August. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks- Jason

Welcome to the neigborhood, Jason,

You found the calmest, most useful welding forum on the internet. If you ask a question we can't answer (becoming less likely with each new member), several will research to FIND the answer, because we want to know, too.

Have a good read or search through the stick-welding topics, and you may find several questions you may not have thought of yet have been discussed.
