Hello. So I signed up for the forums because I've been watching Joes videos for a while and I had a few questions for you welders. I want to become a welder, either pipe or structural. I looked into welding school, but they are too far away and they are expensive. I can't afford it unfortunately. Given this info what's the best way to land a job?
A community college has some welding classes, but it's not a welding school. I'm going to take the classes to get all the experience I can. If I practice on my own and pass the tests for the kind of welds I would be doing would that be a good way to get my foot in the door and land a job?
Also out of curiosity, where would I be able to buy pipes with the bevel precut into them so I can practice root passes and all that? I dont have the means of making my own unfortunately.
