Learning to Weld

Hello everyone, I've been getting into welding as a DIY because it has always interested me. I like working with my hands and be creative, but more than anything, I like to do things myself then feel good that I was able to accomplish it. I did some stick welding many years back but have not done so up until recently. Actually, thanks to finding Jody's videos on the subject, I have learned quite a bit. Now I've been practicing on MIG/Flux welding and thanks to the videos and the information I can see some progress. Like Jody says, seat time running beads in order to get better. I was in the coatings business for 15yrs. and decided that now I would like to try my hand at welding. I am mechanically inclined and do auto/motorcycle repair. I also gunsmith on the side so I know learning this trade will be invaluable and go hand in hand with the other skills I have learned. I like to read and I like to watch and jump in head first. Thanks in advance to all the knowledgeable folks here that share what they know and a big thanks to Jody for being a great instructor and using humor as well to make it fun to learn. ;)
