Howdy all

Been welding for about five years now, lurked here from time to time, watched Jody's videos religiously for the last couple years.

I joined mainly to ask a question in the safety forum, but now that I've signed up I'll probably participate a bit from time to time.

Anyway, good forum, good info. :D

I just realized there's no safety forum as such.

Should I throw my question in shop talk, or under my process of choice? It's a specific question about a helmet.

Thx

I'd post it under your discipline of choice, or under general shop talk. A lot of people have discussed the SpeedGlas versus others, but you'll see them pop up in a few different locations. Or, normally people come out of the woodwork once Steve or Mick post, (almost like they're waiting for the go ahead to talk to you ;) ).

Also, welcome to the forum!

newschoppafowah,
Welcome to the forum! Ask your question, you will get good responses here. Steve and Mick are not allowed to answer first :(

Hey thanks guys.

I found the solution to my helmet problem by searching around here.

Long story short, I returned it and got a different model.

Be careful when selecting expensive helmets for use around high levels of ambient light.

Hope I get a chance to chime in on something around here, but I've narrowed myself down to thin walled 304 and 6061 T6 tubing / pipe, and it seems with every passing week I'm forgetting stuff I used to know and filling that brain RAM with esoteric thin wall TIG stuff. :D

Anyway, good times. Thanks for the welcome!

P.S. Thanks to Jody in case he sees this. He's provided me and all of us I suppose with a great deal of invaluable advice!
