Hi Guys

Noob here! Only been DC tig welding for about a year now. I started welding to save on cost of upgrades on my car like
boost pipes, exhaust , turbo manifold etc . I'm a total noob and learnt the hard/wrong way lol. I'm currently using a
180amp DC inverter tig welder which I want to mod for DCEN so I can try welding ali...thats another post ;)

Cheers

Hey,

Welcome to the show. A slight correction: your dc tig will weld dc + and dc- at a switch of the leads, but to weld Ali, The home user will need an AC/Dc capable machine,

Sorry for the let down.

Thanks Mick. I have a really cheap tig machine. It has to different connectors, the usual cable for the - and a screw
in typ for torch with a hole in the middles for the gas like the pic. Im planning to use ali stick electrodes as filler, not
the best way to weld it but I cant afford a proper ac/dc machine, a decent machine will cost me +-$1000 US
