Hello everyone, happy new year to all. I live down under in a city called Melbourne and I have just found a new passion for welding. I have started a welding school which I'm learning a lot from but really wanted to learn more about what I would encounter on the job. I've watched pretty much all of welding tips and tricks videos and have learnt so much from this website. I'm learning stick and mig in class at the moment and love it. Can't wait to get myself my own welder to start practicing at home. I would really like to get myself a stick/tig machine but not sure if that's a good choice for my first welder. Been watching a lot of the tig welding videos and very interested in learning the style. Again it's great to be a part of this forum. Looking forward to chatting and picking everyone's brain.

Hey,

Welcome to the show. Im from Vic as well, Bendigo to be exact. Im glad you've found a passion for welding. A stick welder is a reasonable place to start, because it always keeps you thinking. Not just point and shoot like mig.

Thanks boys glad to be in the game. Yea I thought the same about an Arc welder. It's a lot more interesting than a mig.
