Hey all . Been watching the youtube videos for a while and decided to join the forum and learn some more.
I'm pretty much just a hobbyist welder, I've taken a couple intro welding classes at the local community college and I can at least get metal to stick.
I mainly weld on my own jeep and friends off road rigs.

Here are some pictures of some of my better looking welds. Let me know what you think of them and what I can do to make them better and I'd really appreciate it

These two are from welding some mounts and a perch for my buddies jeep with my hobart mig. Im not sure why I always have so much splatter though.

This is just from some random practicing with my stick welder. Its 7018 and and probably at about 110 amps or so I can't really remember.

All looks good, Nick! The spatter I see is not at a "problem level", though it can be improved.

My suggestion on the spatter? First use an anti-spatter spray. Used correctly, it can reduce the sticking of the spatter by 80% or so. Second, excess spatter often indicates a bit too much wire speed for the voltage, or conversely, too little voltage for the wire speed. Remember, the recommendations in all the "calculators" and charts are starting points, and practice, time, and fine-tuning will only improve things.

The 7018 weld looks dandy, as well.

The 7018 is no newb's weld

You know quite a bit about, rod angle, travel speed, and arc length.

Your amps are really close, and it looks like your weld chipped nicely
