Welding Tips and Tricks

Hello everyone. I stumbled across this page and decided this would be a good place to learn as much as I can about the industry. My only experience welding is very little GMAW time and some gas welding I did in the Marine Corps on down time. I also took a semester of welding at a community college. I was able to pass bend tests using the GMAW process, past some courses. I have no welding equipment besides PPE. Very little knowledge and experience. I'm not one to act like I know it all and will appreciate any info.

My biggest goal here is to be pointed in the right direction. What do I need to do? Thanks to all for any feedback.

I would start with the purchase of a machine.

Welcome to the forum. Are you planning on keeping on with mig or moving to another process?

There are many fine machines on the market, only limited by budget. In any price range, you are kind of spoiled for choice. Have a think about what you are interested in and we can go from there.
