I'm definitely a hobbyist these days. Started my working life as a welder's helper in Memphis back in the early sixties repairing pontoon bridge balks. And occasionally have relearned what I was taught then. These days I have an old Victor oxycetylene setup that I use for the odd job around the property and for motorcycles. And am looking to move ?up? to more advanced tools. Found this forum while looking for info on Victor torch tips. So I'll be asking novice questions again. Truth is that I'd rather ask you guys. My wife worked her way through UC Berkeley as a welder and makes somewhat wifey comments about my technique. I put up with it because she's cute. Well not the comments. I've never done TIG and little enough MIG. But I can't get her to do it these days because it damages her nails.

So hi.

Hey,

Welcome along. Glad to have you, hope we can help out and get you making some sparks. I often joke about getting my wife to weld with me, the look i get says "stop talking fool, you're wasting your breath"
