New in Florida

Hey yall. Im new to the forum..not so much to welding. grew up on a farm in Ohio and used some 1920's style arc welder to melt two pieces of metal together so they didnt look as broken. Now I live down in FL and am building an old motorcycle. And I've found myself welding more and more. Nothing major...I dont trust myself enough to weld important welds. Just doing small things. like brackets...a sissy bar. license plate holders. ya know simple stuff that i can grind down and cover the welds with easily.
I'm using a (ready for this!) Harbor freight style 110 amp POS $85.00 flux core welder. I never really weld anything over 1/4" ...so even though its a POS machine it works for my limited skill and use. But for heavier stuff I've purchased another 220v old ass lincon arc welder....it gets used more as a table.
I guess the reason im joinin up here and saying howdy is Because i would like to learn some tips an tricks (figured this would be the right place for that) to make these flux core welds look a little better (without buying a new machine right now). On the rare occasion that i push the dryer out of the way and fire up the arc welder I can lay down a pretty decent bead using the thickness chart i have i know i can penetrate the stuff i normally weld. But i really really enjoy the ease and manuverability of the 110v flux core welder.
Anyways picture of the bike im building.
Some things ive welded that you might be able to look at on here are The headlight bracket, the mounts for the seat, the sissy bar. I pulled out the arm welder to weld up a big hole in the frame where the previous over used to hold a horrible looking seat in place. I've also made a battery box out of an old ammo box but no pictures of that yet.
In this first picture you can see the seat mounts and the hole i filled in in the down tube.
here you can see the sissy bar.
Now i took the sissy bar off to get painted as i finish up the engine so here it is with the sisssy bar and fender off and the headlight bracket in and the motor also installed.
Thats all i got for now folks. you will probobly see me floating around thee forums soaking up info until i feel the need to ask a question. yall have fun!
