Hello y'all I am Jay and I live in Mission Texas. I am new to welding and am eager to learn how to weld. I was given a older Century 100 AMP AC Welder with two helmets and I can not just let it sit in my garage. So I am looking forward to learning from this site.

Ironmanjay.
Look at a few videos on welding safety.
Most of it is common sense, but there are probably a few points that care should be taken.
=====
While looking at those safety videos and/or articles on safety, make sure you understand:
- Eye protection while welding. For example the correct shade of lens for the amps that you are using.
- Eye protection with goggles to protect against sparks, slag, etc..
- Lungs protection while welding. Some alloys you do not want to weld without a mask.
- Body protection against burns. For example the use of leather, all cottons, all wools and definitely NO SYNTHETICS.
- Safe working area. Welding a safe distance from flammables, wood, etc..
Google search for "video welding safety" and you will find many examples.
=====
From your welder it looks like you will be starting with stick welding, sometimes also called MMAW (Manual Metal Arc Welding) or in some places also SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding). One example of a pretty straight forward self paced course for the welding basics is ESAB's course at link below. Probably the first three Lessons would be beneficial at this point for you.

=====
Enjoy.
