Hi, All. I've done some gas welding and MIG, and a little bit of TIG long ago. I'm looking into AC/DC TIGs now to do some freakbikes with aluminum frames. Does anyone know about AC-mode failure in the Eastwood TIG200? I have a line on one that doesn't work in AC, but want to make sure I won't get into too much trouble trying to fix it. Thanks!

I wouldn’t put too much time or energy into an Eastwood welding machine, especially trying to resolve AC issues. They are very low end boxes and don’t carry much in the way of resale value.

You can buy a PrimeWeld 225 through Jody’s online store or Amazon for not a lot of money and get a very, very good machine at a very reasonable value. It will cost more than the broken Eastwood, but they are far better machines.
