Hello everyone!
I've been reading (lurking) this forum for several years now. I'm a hobby MIG welder, building mostly trailer frames, some furniture, and odd & ends repair work for friends and family for the past 20 years or so. I
've recently found myself in need of the ability to weld AL, so have been watching many hours of YT videos, reading books and forum posts, blogs, etc. I found a lightly used Everlast TIG machine locally to me for a good price but have been struggling to get the beads how I'd like. The other night I stumbled upon a thread about testing the Pot in the foot pedal, so pulled out the multimeter and found out that my pedal is shot (0%/100% no ramping up/down!), so I've ordered a new one and I hope that will fix it, or at least be less frustrating!

Thanks for all the great info here!

Dave

Hi Dave and welcome. Good luck with your endeavor and let us know how you make out with the new pedal.

Thanks BillE.Dee! New pedal arrived today, my goodness what a difference! Now I can feather the heat to keep the puddle how I want it! Of course now it’s obvious that my Left and Right hands are not working together at all!

Practice, practice, practice!
