Hi everyone, my name is Ian, I live in Liverpool UK, I have no experience of welding but am determined to learn, I have since I was a kid ( I am now 62) Been involved with repairing all types of vehicles, I have rebuilt many vehicle especially motorbikes, but as I am now nearing retirement I want to go that bit further - i have just bought a gas less mig, and a small 120amp inverter stick welder, I have also recently bought an old encore unimat sl mill and a sieg x2 milling machine - so I guess I will be sounding a lot of time in my garage.....damn I am going to miss my moaning wife and screaming kids :D ....ian

milling machine.....<drool> :D

but you can chuck that gasless mig in the bin. they are just rubbish machines. any decent gas mig will also run gasless.
at least you have a stick welder. best thing to learn with. use some 2.5mm rods (just some 6013/4313 will do for starters.
3.2mm rods are a bit easier to learn with but really need a 140 amp or more welder.
tweak it until it breaks
