Welding Tips and Tricks

Firstly Hi to everybody in this forum and is nice that a site like this exist. Finally found a place where I can search about stick welding. I been tried to weald 70/18 with the bobcat 250 by Miller and my main porpoise is for trying to fix some heavy equipment that I use, nothing special, just trying fix wherever I broke while Im using the equipment. Im eager to learn more about all kinds of welding and cutting.
im planing to get a stick inverter to use 70/18 welding rods and also get a generator to power it. I been looking for a inverter machine a Spanish one "Ronch" 250 arc but don't know what generator is good for it.

If you're going to be stick welding on generator power, save your self some time and get one that can output at least 10kW continuously. Arc starts demand high surge which are not good for small generators.

And why not stick with welding Stick rods on your TrailBlazer? Perfectly suitable machine for it.

I thought the same thing. Only difference I’ve found between an inverter and a gas machine is the initial arc when you first strike up. On a gas machine there may be a slight lag, and on an inverter it’s almost unnoticeable. Unless your using long leads.( like 200’).
