Hi,
I hope this first post finds all in good health, firstly a little about myself, I am nearly 60 years old and was once a ticked structural welder...well that was then, this is now, I consider myself a good welder as I have been away from full time welding for over 20 years, truthfully, I burnt out...all the study and practice took it's toll after years of welding and studying. fast forward to today and I'm a licensed distiller that ferments and distills alcohol, when I'm not making quality spirits I fabricate thing we need in our distillery, boilers...when I say boiler i'm talking passive boilers like a kettle, I hand make stills from copper and associated equipment that goes along with distilling, so one of the reasons I'm here is to learn more and brush up old skills and acquire more experience...I have a few trades in my background as ive always become interested in something and before I knew I was a tradesman in that field...any how nice to be a part of this forum...nearly forgot to mention I alway watch Jodies video's for info on what im about to under take. :D

Although I left welding many years ago, its been the one trade I have used on and off my whole life...saved me a lot of money. I'm so glad I got off my butt and learnt how to weld.

This is a whiskey/wine thief, I made this using copper tubing, 15% silver solder, pb free solder and a lpg torch.

It's been a while since I last posted as ive been flat out distilling and fabricating when i'm not busy....(yeah right) here is another distilling tool I make in my slower periods and or spare time. I use a small lpg torch and Pb free soft solder to build these, There called a Parrot and it's used for measuring the abv, proof as your spirit comes of your still.
