Hello everyone, new to the forum. I use an esab 200 amp Tig at work and just purchased a h&s autoshot 200 amp Tig for my home. I can not get it to weld. It has a crazy wandering arc that blisters the metal instead of puddling it almost as if no gas. My pure argon is set to 25 my amperage is 40, I'm on dc with no pulse and a high frequency start, I'm using a foot pedal and the torch and tungsten from work just to ensure my issue isn't there.. any help would be greatly appreciated

25CFH is awfully high.

Do you feel gas blowing through the torch cup (initiate the arc with the pedal away from metal, hold cup to your cheek)? If not, you may have the cables on your machine reversed. Torch goes into the NEG side.

Could also be a magnet holding the work down is wreaking havoc with your arc? A few pictures of your setup (torch, machine, and work/results) will help. :)

Sounds like you might have grounding issues. your gas is prob a little high as well. are you DCEP + for the tig torch? check that stuff out.
