I'll try to keep this intro brief. I've spent 15 years working industrial maintenance in various plants here in the Twin Cities. Welded on anything and everything you can think of in a manufacturing facility. most of my time has been in food plants, so lots of stainless work. A few years ago I made the jump to Management and currently have a crew of 8 guys working for me. I find I really enjoy teaching the new guys all the skills of the trade and developing the more experienced guys when I can. however i miss having something tangible to see completed at the end of the day. So I started my side gig, I work out of a 3 car garage and have a pretty modest selection of equipment but its all paid for and it earns a bit which is a bonus. I do a lot of repair work and get to do a little fabrication from time to time. I found this forum listening to Jody's podcasts so i tought I'd join up. I am currently working on improving my skills on aluminum and thin gauge tig work, most of my experience has been on heavy stuff. I spend a lot of time watching guys that are far better than me and learn all I can to better myself.
So that's me in a nutshell, I look forward to learning from and contributing to the community.
Ben
