Welcome to the community! Tell us about yourself, your welding interests, skills, specialties, equipment, etc.
Hello everyone. I'm a carpenter from New York. I've been interested in the welding field since I learned a little stick in high school. I would call welding my favorite hobby. Thanks to JODY making all these educational videos, he opened up my eyes when I stumbled across his intellect. I have to say JODY is the best I've seen on the internet schooling. I'm brand new. I have to say I've learned so much in the past couple of months just watching, taking notes, and buying the right equipment. Great job JODY! So in 28 years of playing with wood. I'll put it aside and learn how to fuse some metals together properly. That way I can really argue with the Architects about structural strength on flitch beams! . Thank you for letting me join you guys. I'm eager for all your knowledge you'd like to share. Jason

please don't laugh, especially you Jody. You guys with all your million dollar equipment. You're probably going to yell back at me. I just bought an AMICO PLASMA CUTTER50. I absolutely love it. I think it's half way decent quality for the price I paid. All my welder friends are telling me it's too cheap for a plasma cutter. It does the jobs I need it to do. I know you can pay thousands for one. Don't think I'm cheap, but I took a shot and tried this "no name brand, with no reviews" and was pretty impressed. I would like to know any of my welding family feedback from WeldingTipsandTricks. Jody, I'd be embarrassed if you read this ps Thank you Tungsten for the WELCOME.
I bought a no name 50 amp China plasma. For around home it’s been ok. I use name brand equipment at work so I see the difference in quality of cut. Then again for around home and light intermittent work it’s been acceptable, but it’s not as capable as a 50 amp name brand machine. As long as you know it’s limits.
I have more questions than answers
