Can anyone help me? I am using pure argon have tried all different flow rates and angles. High and low current settings. Grinding the tungsten to a point. Little annoying because when using the tig welder at work I get very very good welds

Welcome

You most likely have some kind of gas issue. Check that you have welding grade 99% pure argon and if possible check your set up with a bottle of gas thats known to be good.

And soap all your connections for the gas. When you start an arc can you hear the gas flowing at all?

Checked for leaks and gas coverage, I am a little suspicious of the gas, it's from a supplier I have never used before. I'm going to take it to work today and hook it up to the machine I usually use and see what happens.

Any chance your employer would allow you to take an argon tank home for a try? This would tell you straight away.
