Bought the Miller econotig new and was told that it was not a machine to use for learning and for when I get good at welding.. That I would need to get rid of it and move up to something better.. Is this True????? ;)

Welcome to the forum. What part of VA are you?

I've never used the Miller Econotig, but I can't believe there's some kind of jinx on that machine that would prevent you from learning. Maybe it has fewer bells and whistles but I'm sure the basics are all there.

When you get good, weld two razor blades together and send them to whoever told you that!

Gotcha- I'm in NoVA, thought we might be neighbors. Many guys are self-taught, and have a leg up due to Jody's videos. Just to be sure... you've seen the TIG videos?
