G'day from Melbourne Australia. I'm a welder who specializes in TIG welding Aluminium and Stainless Steel and one of my clients has asked me about welding some components made of "Stellite 6" together. I know a bit about using stellite for hardfacing, but haven't had any experience in welding Stellite to itself. Anyone have any advice? (welding rods to use? do I need pre or post heat ? do I use Argon? etc)
Thanks, Gary

Hi Gary, Welcome. Im from Bendigo.

Here is a little information I found.

It appears to me that you use rod of the same composition as the base metal. I hope your customer has deep pockets, I can imagine this is dear as.'

Thanks for the link, Coldman.
I'm off to see my local welding consumables supplier to see if they can help.
And get an idea on cost

Cheers, Gary

I just looked up where these guys are and they are nearby to my shop. If you strike out with your LWS let me know and I can go see them.

Appreciate that Coldman.
But my local supplier think they can help. Talarc in Melbourne apparently supply Stellite consumables.
haven't been given a cost yet, though.
Appreciate everyone's help
