Just saying hi. I am a complete newbie when it comes to welding. I just sold some "extra" guns to finance getting into welding, as I have a decent sized, 220 wired shop at my home, and metalworking interests me quite a bit. I also just had a neighbor move in that grew up on a farm and took lots of welding classes in school as well as worked on stuff on the farm, so I will have someone to guide me on my journey.

Welcome, goalie,
You've picked a good spot.
We've everyone here, from retired master welders to "I plugged it in. Now what?"
Every person and every question gets the same respect.
We treat this place like a neighborhood BBQ, and like to address each other by name, so even if you make one up, a name to sign your posts with helps us be "familiar".

Welcome to the forum. I haven't been doing it that long either, Jody's video's are a great way to learn, then get seat time and reference his video's . There's a bit of a learning curve, don't get discouraged if you make a mess and poof a lot of tungstens . Just keep at it. Good luck man !
Um, I do work in MPLS, but, in my defense, I paired it down to three safes when I had a son. Two BIG ones, one small one.MinnesotaDave wrote:Goalie - welcome from Bemidji

I still have my bases covered when it comes to guns.

That will get work done - good balance between cost and useable amps in my opinion.
What's the next one you're going to buy?
You still need a torch, stick welder, AC/DC tig, lathe, chop saw, band saw, anvil, drill press, press brake, spare mig, 1960's SA-200 engine drive,......I'm sure I've left something out

I am going to figure out how to use this one first. I have a pretty nicely outfitted woodworking shop, so this will round it out nicely.MinnesotaDave wrote:That will get work done - good balance between cost and useable amps in my opinion.
