Howdy, my name is Dave and I'm looking to improve my skills by learning from other folks, and maybe later be able to pass it on myself.

I first learned to weld 16 years ago when I was in high school, where I was in FFA for ag mechanics, and have been doing it since for farm repairs, general hobby type stuff, and 4 wheel drive fabrication. With access to an old Montgomery Ward AC295 and a Lincoln 140 amp mig, I was getting it done, but a couple of years ago purchased a Miller 252 and more recently started tig on a Lincoln 175 I picked up on the cheap.

Anyhow, I've got a ways to go before I get where I want to be, so I'll be here reading when I'm not practicing. The older I get the more I realize I don't know how to do.

On the projects list, I've got a welding table I need to finish, some suspension stuff for the 4x4, and when I can afford the materials and time and get better with the tig, I have a roll cage, some chassis beef, and some body work lined up.

I look forward to being a part of the community.

Welcome Dave, years ago I lived in Freeport doing some welding in the Dow Chemical plants there. Texas is a great state.
