TIG -1/16"2%LANTH. @ 120 amps DC.
Brass 1/2 coupling on type L copper
15% silver solder
Any idea if this is a recognized procedure?
Strength possibility or concerns?
Was really just a "wonder if it would work" type of thing.

That process, regardless of the TIG heat-source, is still "soldering", or possibly "silver brazing", though that's a reach at 15% silver.

Looks like it went well, regardless.

How well did it stick to the copper? From the pic it looks like it is just laying on the pipe. I use 15% to "sweat" fittings on ac units on the side and when the copper gets hot enough the silver solder flows right into the copper. Never tried it with a tig. Interesting
