Hi all

Just signed up as I will be needing some advice on buying a new AC TIG soon. I see a lot of cheap chinese stuff on ebay, and I have been burned before with their junk  but I can't afford to break the bank either. I was looking for one with AC freq. control for better control with alum. :geek:

Anyway, if you guys could let me know where this noob could best post this question, that'd be much appreciated

Thanks

Welcome to the family
I'm getting the new everlast 210ext 2014 model soon.
For specs refer to the USA everlast site and look at the 255 ext.
Other then power figures the 210ext 2014 is the Same and cost from mem $2100
Which is cheaper then the old model and comes with more

Hey drifta

Just wondering, are you saying you can get this machine for $2100 AUD? If so, sign me up! :p

Though, I'm not sure though if I would want a digital unit, just because I find it easier to play with the settings as I learn/muck around with different materials/thicknesses etc etc. But I do like the idea of the finer control of parameters and changing the waveform, which I don't think analogue systems can do?

If I was to be a cheap skate, I was looking at these two units... but they seem like my typical made in china stuff, so I am a little cautious. If experienced members can give feedback on.

Cheap:

Cheaper:

Cheapest and probably rubbish:

I got the price from everlast Australia when I emailed then asking about the new model with triangle waveform option and they told me the new one came with more and cost less.
It's the 210ext. But they told me to look at the 255ext for specs. not power rating but setting options and accessorys that come with it.
I'll dig up the email for you and pm ya.

Welcome, I was just thinking about purchasing an ac tig machine and put a post in the tig welding section about it just recently. Look around, ask questions, and don't be afraid to chime in with your opinions. :)
It's always best to build your own, especially when it comes to hitches!!!
