My name is Eric, and I am new to the forums but I have been watching the videos for some time now. I am a pipefitter at the local shipyard and spend a bit of time tacking and sometimes welding up fixtures.

The welding and fitting is divided between departments where I work so I do not get to do as much welding as I would like. Since this is the case, I decided to buy and Everlast 160sth that will be here in two days for my own entertainment. The filler metals and processes are very proceduralized where I work so I dont feel like I have really understood the reason for selecting metals, techniques and the like.

I look forward to a place where I can field questions for welding at home, and tips to get better.

Thanks,
Eric

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure that you will find lots of knowledge here. I'm fairly new at TIG and am learning a lot.
