Hello All. New guy here, but not new to welding. My name is Eric and I am a robotics painter. Grew up mig welding at my grandfathers and picked up my first stinger at 13. Got out of the hobby for awhile now due to going to school and then not having the equipment of my own. Finally picked up a small eastwood 135 to get the practice back in and to do small repairs around the house. Once I can get the 220 ran to my garage, I will be saving my pennies to get a bigger welding rig. With signing up here I hope that my knowledge will grow and I can get back to hobby.

Thanks guys. I do have a question though. What would be a great 220 mig welder that is a lower price for a hobbyist. I plan on nothing larger than 1/4 inch plate. I was looking at maybe a Lincoln 180hd. I really don't need all the bells and whistles. Just looking at maybe welding 1/4 inch plated of road bumpers. I know my Eastwood 135 mig won't do it.

Get a Hobart handler.

140, 190, or 210.

I've had them all, and there the best machines for the money.

Keep an eye on eBay for them.
