Hello:

My name is Chuck and I am just getting into more active welding at the age of 67. I've welded in the past but definitely do not consider myself a welder in any sense of the word. I'm basically a wood worker and summer time gold prospector. I like to fabricate simple projects out of metal. That is why I'm getting into "hobby welding". Gold prospecting sometimes requires the fabrication of tools to make the process of placer mining easier.

Welcome to the forum. I'm a beginner in retirement and just a few years younger than you. I hope you find the forum useful. Good luck with your gold prospecting.

Just a couple welders and a couple of big hammers and torches.

Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it.
