Hey guys,

My name is Matt, I have been through several welding classes and currently work as a production welder for a major trailer manufacturing company in the US. I am going to school for IT/Cyber Security but if I can find a good enough paying welding job I will stick to welding and save my money on tuition.

At work I use a Lincoln Idealarc® CV305 MIG Welder w/ feeder box,Lincoln Tomahawk 375 Plasma Cutter, and an Auto Arc auto darkening helmet. Our shielding gas is bank fed and mixed on site around 75/25 Ar/CO2. Sometimes I have a porosity issue that really bugs me, I check my nozzle and tip and typically its clean, usually I just run over my bead again (sort of like a hot pass in stick welding) and its fine, I'm just not sure why I am getting the porosity to start with.

Thanks guys that's all about me in a welding aspect,
-Matt

welcome to the Forum :D
Just a couple welders and a couple of big hammers and torches.

Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it.
