Hi all

Since I am trying to retire and ensure that I have the right gear for retirement and ensure that my dollars are spent wisely which will avoid my wife's quick upper left cut...I need advise on what Tig Torch kit to get for my Lincoln Power Mig 210 MP.
As some people rescue puppies from the SPCA, I rescue old Honda Goldwings and turn them into cafe racers or other projects. I am getting into the need for a Tig Torch for my unit for the exhaust (plus other projects) and I am finding the search somewhat overwhelming (being senile is also adding to the frustration but that is another matter).

Most of my welding has been with torch or mig and there have been some big projects like a 39 foot sailboat however when it comes to Tig welding the only comment would be" DAAAAAAA"

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I strongly recommend CK Worldwide Superflex cables in 25' length. You can go with a 17 style, air cooled, or spring for a 20 with a separate water cooled rig. For your use, a 17 will be all you need. Buy a decent setup of gas lenses, cups 5, 8, 12 and Bob's your Uncle.

You can get a quality set of cups/lenses from the WTT store at weldmonger.com

I agree. And also make sure you have pure argon (no mix gases), and that you assemble the torch parts correctly.

Welcome. I agree with cj and oscar. When you get up and running with the tig unit, any pictures of your projects will provide better answers to any questions you may have.

Since my welder is not set up for Tig and requires the following kit:
Lincoln Electric K3690-1 TIG Kit for the Power MIG 210 MP, I guess that I will have to go with this kit and see what other items that I have to pick up...I looked at all the individual pieces and it seems to be better to buy the kit and use it and as I gain experience pick up a CK unit...
Thanks for the advice!

What kit would you recommend that I pick up to go with the Lincoln Tig kit??
I will be mostly welding stainless steel for the next little while...

If you will be welding stainless, you would benefit from a dual flowmeter regulator so you can backpurge. HTP (www.usaweld.com) can set you up with all CK torch stuff, and pretty much anything else you would need. They don't have everything on the website, so just call them up when you're ready to buy and they can set you up no problem.
