Welded while in the service, on the several jobs I had while getting to retire. Picked up a tig machine to repair an aluminum boat I acquired and learned enough to get er in the water without any leaking. Gaining the time under the hood with this tig machine. Still a little green but gettin better. Did a bit of repair on a truck fender and didn't blow any holes I couldn't plug. Have to put a cheater lens in the hood probably cause the old eyes don't see as great as they did 50 years ago.
