I am a millwright by trade, and have now been teaching an Industrial Maintenance Mechanical program for five years.
I have in the previous years tested on 3G in SMAW, and MiG, but never got proficient in TIG. Simply wasn’t a part of what power generation projects required of a millwright.
I am needing to practice for a 3G visual and bend test in the three previously mentioned processes.
Reason is, I want to become state certified to teach Welding here at my old high school.
This test is state mandated, and even though I wouldn’t actually teach TIG, it’s what I’ve got to do to make this happen.
I’m interested in resources, tips, tricks, advice, and will go ahead and say that I will be using a scratch start Lincoln 275-S for practice.
I figured a true welder’s forum would be far better than just surfing the web, or watching Instagram videos.
I’m not exactly a newbie, but do realize that if you don’t know something, it’s best learned from someone that does.
Thank you for doing what y’all do here, actually stumbled across the site while surfing the web, something I thought was useless.

Do yourself a favor, and check out the Welding Tips and Tricks YouTube Channel. The information is spot on, the arc shots are excellent, there's ample technical information, and lots of bend/etch proofs to show the actual results.
