Hi folks,

just joined here after lurking for a while, and just getting a TIG welder. A bit of history - Im a mechanical engineer with a background of engineering development then running manufacturing plants (Tier 1 automotive suppliers) then bought a Misc Metals fab shop in "09 - not particularly good timing - that didn't turn out like expected, but I did have a lot of fun and learned a lot.

Now have a "real job" again, but kept most of the equipment - fairly well equipped shop with:
iron worker
2 Scotsman cold saws
12" metal cutting Scotsman band saw
OTC Daihen DP400 w boom wire feeder, and aluminum setup
Lincoln 180 wire feeder
Miller 200 A wire feeder (dont remember model, but its an older machine)
Niagara bar and sheet roller
2018 AHP 200 Tig Welder (w Tig finger and Jody's stubby kit)
JB2 tube bender
lotsa clamps, grinders, etc.

I've gotten fairly good with Mig - nd have done quite a bit of it in steel, stainless, and aluminum, but now want to develop Tig skill.

I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions.

Welcome to the group. Sounds like you have the equipment to tackle any job that someone starting out may encounter.
