I run a MM252 with a 30A spoolgun and am constantly fighting with anything out of position. A video with some tips for vertical and overhead would be GREATLY appreciated!

Are you asking for out of position welding of aluminum with the Spoolgun or general when using MIG out of position.

Aluminum with a spoolgun...

Steel isn't a problem, but aluminum gobs up and blows holes something fierce. I usually give up and fire up my Dynasty. The spoolgun is so much faster though.

How thick? Wonder if it has anything to do with heat rising?

I'm thinking it has more to do with spray transfer vs short circuit. Maybe I just need to dial things back a bit and get away from the spray.

From what I have read, spray is for flat and possibly horizontal only, but that could be only for steel
I have a soldering iron!

Aluminum mig has to be done with spray transfer.

Can't say I've ever tried to go vertical or overhead with the spool gun - I like my tig too much :D

Do you have pulse capability for your spool gun?
