Would love to see a video on how to tell when you need a new collet, collet body, cup, gas lens body, insulator, etc...
Thanks

Bill,
I like that idea. I would also add when you should replace your contact tips, as my guys just want to throw them away as soon as they get a sputter. What a waste but it would be nice to have a video to show to them on when you actually should replace them. The TIG consumables are one I have never really heard explained, except for the obvious.
Jody, I would be willing to "sponsor" this video with consumables if interested.

Unfortunately the only one that is obvious to me is when I broke my cup

Bill,
I'm definitely not going to make a video but I'll go through my checklist.
I buy only CK wedge collets and you should never wear one out. Gas lens when it has more than a few bb's stuck to the screen I replace them, probably more me being anal than it's functionality. Collet body only if the threads are fouled and that's only been once since 1982 when I first bought my tig welder. Cups are obvious as in cracked. Orings when cracked. and insulators when they don't tighten up with the cup.

Thanks, guess I have enough then with a replacement for everything on hand. Bought them from welding city a while back.
