I would love to see any tips for welding 16 gauge stainless.

Ways to keep it from warping, keeping proper temps and color.

Will be making a small tank out of 16 gauge stainless. 6x12x12

to weld ss without warping, try using the following; the joint fitup must be tight,no gaps.(metal to metal).next, use a lot of small tacks,(no filler metal) aprox. 1/2 to1 in. apart. Next,use the backstep method, or skip around welding small areas ,aprox. one to two in., and keep cool in between blocks.Next, you can fuse without using filler wire, but, keep a piece of wire handy to fill a hole if necessary.
The best way to become a great welder is to get some good instructions, get some practice material, and develop your own technique, then practice ,practice ,practice..................ron
P.S., the max. inter-pass temp. for ss is 350 deg.f.
